Jaydon's Blessing Day

Jaydon Vance Porter was blessed in our ward Sunday March 1, 2009. It was fun to show off our new grandchildren to the ward. Michael's Grandma Moore made Jaydon's darling tux, complete with tails. And Melanie, Kristina's neighbor made his blanket.

Jaydon Vance is named for Vance so of course Vance had to be there for his blessing. We are so glad he came. Michael is a very proud father, and gave a Jaydon a beautiful blessing.

Michayla and Hailey think their baby is pretty special and Colin really likes having another boy cousin.

This was Todd's first opportunity to show off his new daughter, Rory Elizabeth Gardiner. He is a very proud daddy too.

This is the first chance for most of the family to meet Rory. It is fun to have babies so close together again, a month and 3 days apart just like Colin and Michayla.

Precocious Baby!

Kristina called last night to tell us that Jaydon was rolling from his stomach to his back and Julianne and Carolee and I all told her he must have done it by accident because he was much too young to be able to do that. We took LaRae and GG Nona Piercy to see him today and Michael showed us that they got a video of him rolling over, so we said put him down on a blanket and let's see. So she did and he did and we saw. He is one STRONG little boy. He lifts up his head and arches his back and over he goes. And he is only 10 days old. Watch out Kris, I think you will have your work cut out for you with this one.

GG Nona got a kick out of Jaydon's wrinkles. He looks like a little old man.

Welcome Jaydon Vance Porter!

Jaydon Vance Porter joined the family at 3:47 pm on January 7, 2009. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and is 21 inches long. He has dark hair and his sisters and Mom and Dad are very happy that he is here.

Merrily we "Roll" Along

December is Christmas party time at Heritage Gardens, and lots of lunch and dinner parties means lots of our famous Heritage Garden rolls. I am the official and only maker of the rolls so I have been busy lately. From last Saturday to Today, I made over 1800 rolls. Want to know how to make 1800 rolls? It takes:

200 pounds flour
4 1/2 cups salt
108 Tablespoons yeast (that's 6 3/4 cups)
9 gallons milk
13 1/2 quarts water
216 eggs
20 pounds butter

Then spend about 35 hours mixing, rolling, flipping, baking, and buttering rolls (if you have had lots of practice or it may take a little longer.) Oh, and I only got butter in my eye twice.

10 Years in the Making

After 10 years of saving quarters and collecting them in the map it is finally complete. Thanks to everyone who helped me find them all and saved them for me (especially Julianne). Hmmm I wonder what I will collect now...
